Russell Kane wins Edinburgh Comedy Award!

Blog posted:31 August 2010

Our favourite skinny son-of-Southend has won the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award 2010! We are all huge fans of Russell Kane, (and so are you by all accounts – last time he graced the Playhouse stage he sold out in double quick time), so massive congratulations to him!

I wonder what he will spend the £10,000 prize on…more skinny jeans? Pleasing shirts? Quill pens? His own personal bouncy castle?

Of course, we at Norwich Playhouse like making sure we have the country’s best comedians here to amuse and entertain the Norwich population – so the next question is will Mr Kane be making his way back here in the next few months? Well…

That would be telling.

Rannel Theatre Company visit Norwich Playhouse in September with their totally unique and utterly brilliant show Flhip Flhop - a laugh-out-loud funny piece of theatre, combining beatbox, hip hop dance, music and visual gags from two very talented young gentlemen.

Have a look at their video made for the BBC Comedy Website to see what we’re talking about…
